Pulmonary Function Therapist

Job Requisition: REQ2593 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40 Hours Hiring Range : $31.68- $42.38 The actual compensation for this position will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law. Responsibilities: - Performs ordered pulmonary function and pulmonary stress testing. Monitors and evaluates patient response during and after testing. Documents and reports testing results. - Determines testing reference ranges and interprets results. Recognizes and corrects for invalid test results. - Prepares, maintains and calibrates pulmonary function testing equipment. Maintains adequate levels of supplies used for testing.Troubleshoots equipment problems and reports needed repairs/replacements. - Provides education and resources to patient and/or patient's family based on clinical implications. Complexity of Work: - Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment. Personal Protective Equipment: - Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Licensure / Certification / Registration: Required Credential(s): - BLS Provider obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. - Respiratory Therapist credentialed from the New York Board of Respiratory Therapy obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Must be able to speak, read, write and follow instructions in English. Education: - High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.
