Position: Poker Chip Runner/Cashier

Department: Poker

Job Summary: Performs chip running and cashier transactions that support Poker operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Sets up games, including the sale of chips to players and balancing the cash in exchange with the bank.
  2. Exchanges chips for cash for patrons seated in games in a courteous and timely manner.
  3. Balances assigned bank accurately after each shift, under management supervision.
  4. Prepares accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
  5. Maintains an effective working relationship with guests and co-workers.
  6. Provides courteous service and personal assistance to promote goodwill.
  7. Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  1. Knowledge of customer service/public relations techniques.
  2. Knowledge of basic math and money handling procedures.
  3. Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
  4. Ability to accurately handle and count money as well as make change.
  5. Ability to pass a math test (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and guests.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and be detail oriented.
  8. Ability to effectively communicate.
  9. Ability to understand and follow through on written or verbal instructions.
  10. Ability to adapt well to the casino environment that involves large numbers of people as well as loud and continuous high noise levels.
  11. Ability to work in a smoking environment.
  12. Ability to walk and stand for 100% of shift.
  13. Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and grip throughout a shift.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Any combination of education, training, or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the job.
  2. Must be able to work any shift and any day of the week including weekends, holidays and special events.
  3. Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  4. Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Six months money handling experience, preferably in a cashier position.
  2. Computer proficiency with Excel, Word, and other software.
