Position: Poker Chip Runner/Cashier
Department: Poker
Job Summary: Performs chip running and cashier transactions that support Poker operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Sets up games, including the sale of chips to players and balancing the cash in exchange with the bank.
- Exchanges chips for cash for patrons seated in games in a courteous and timely manner.
- Balances assigned bank accurately after each shift, under management supervision.
- Prepares accurate and thorough departmental records and reports.
- Maintains an effective working relationship with guests and co-workers.
- Provides courteous service and personal assistance to promote goodwill.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of customer service/public relations techniques.
- Knowledge of basic math and money handling procedures.
- Skill in developing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to accurately handle and count money as well as make change.
- Ability to pass a math test (add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and guests.
- Ability to work under pressure and be detail oriented.
- Ability to effectively communicate.
- Ability to understand and follow through on written or verbal instructions.
- Ability to adapt well to the casino environment that involves large numbers of people as well as loud and continuous high noise levels.
- Ability to work in a smoking environment.
- Ability to walk and stand for 100% of shift.
- Ability to push, pull, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, reach, twist, and grip throughout a shift.
- Any combination of education, training, or work experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Must be able to work any shift and any day of the week including weekends, holidays and special events.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
- Six months money handling experience, preferably in a cashier position.
- Computer proficiency with Excel, Word, and other software.
