This position is responsible for accurate, precise, and timely performance of laboratory tests. The Medical Laboratory Technician I evaluates and reports test results while assuring compliance and meeting all regulatory requirements consistent with the quality of a World Class Laboratory. The Medical Laboratory Technician I will be required to exhibit excellent customer service skills in line with Mercy Signature Service in all internal and external customer interactions. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Qualifications: Education: Be a high school graduate or equivalent and have successfully completed an official military medical laboratory procedures course of at least 50 weeks duration and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist (Laboratory Technician).ORHave earned a high school diploma or equivalent and have documentation of training appropriate for the testing performed prior to analyzing patient specimens.• Experience: 1-year acceptable clinical laboratory experience.• Preferred Education: Associate's degree in chemistry, biology or other science related field that meets requirements for certification agency requirements.• Preferred Certifications: MLT (ASCP) or equivalent.We Offer Great Benefits:Day-one comprehensive health, vision and dental coverage, PTO, tuition reimbursement and employer-matched retirement funds are just a few of the great benefits offered to eligible co-workers, including those working 32 hours or more per pay periodWe're bringing to life a healing ministry through compassionate care.At Mercy, our supportive community will be behind you every step of your day, especially the tough ones.
