The Production Planner is responsible for developing a production plan to satisfy customer demand while carrying minimum effective inventory. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the plant with a production plan consistent with the plant capacity and sales forecast. The Production Planner is responsible for determining the desired inventory levels to meet both service and inventory targets. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans. Strong collaboration with the Shop Floor, Purchasing, Operations, Sales, Customer Service and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage and develop run strategy of assigned products to optimize service, inventory and efficiencyDetermine constraints and initiate resolution steps with cross functional areasCreate production orders and monitor their status from release through completionExpedite or defer orders as required Maintain inventory at target levels while achieving service levelsCoordinate material flows throughout product/BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and/or materials due to new product developmentProvide delivery commitmentsMaintain material master system planning parameters (reorder points, lead time, safety stocks...)Analyze short term constraints establishing recommendations for resolution; work cross functionally to execute agreed solutionCollaborate with internal customers by providing a high level of customer service, including recommending solutions, resources and alternative supply optionsProvide support for supply chain functions including shipping, receiving, material handling and other duties as neededEnsure and promote compliance to Company and Procurement policies and proceduresDemonstrate the DoALL Core Values dailyOther tasks and projects as assignedReports to the Operations Manager SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:Bachelor's in Supply Chain, Business or Logistics preferred2-3 years of previous experience in a Planner/scheduler role working for a direct manufacturerProven applied knowledge of MRP, inventory management, manufacturingHighly Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)Strong sense of urgency and attention to detailExcellent communication skills both written and verbal including follow-up skills.
