Schedule: 10hr Shifts Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 7:00am - 5:30pm

The Sr CT Technologist is responsible for the following:

Performs routine and advanced imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis. Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations. Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers. Performs basic and advanced imaging analysis as necessary (e.g. 3D). Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy. Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs. Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA. Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service. Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations. Practices High Reliability Training. Patient/Family Relations Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family. Identifies, reports and follows up on equipment malfunctions. Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section. Determines appropriate coding for pre-authorizations as directed. Investigates and resolves technical and scheduling problems. Performs additional responsibilities as delegated by the Modality Operations Manager, i.e., medication swat, preparing cystogram kits. Arranges and coordinates patient scheduling with physicians and other clinical and support staff. Works with others to promote and encourage each person’s contribution on the interdisciplinary team toward achieving optimal patient goals and outcomes. Serves as a Preceptor for new staff. Trains fellows, residents, students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques. Trains CT staff in imaging examinations and dose reduction techniques. Acts as a mentor to less experienced staff and helps with new departmental /hospital initiatives.

The Senior CT Technologist must have the following:

RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification. BLS certification.
