Nature of Work

The City of Northglenn is seeking dynamic, highly qualified, and organized individuals for the position of Cashier. Reporting to the Recreation Coordinator, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing daily payments related to the use of the outdoor swimming pool.
Duties and Responsibilities

The role involves a variety of tasks at the admission stand of Kiwanis Outdoor Pool, including, but not limited to, welcoming and aiding patrons, verifying passes and memberships to ensure proper authorization, collecting daily admission fees, and keeping records of patrons entering the facility.

Cash handling is a vital aspect of this position.

Additionally, general cleaning of the admission area is required as directed.

The candidate is expected to establish and uphold positive public relations with community groups, the public, and fellow employees.

Schedule will vary between the hours of 9:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. approximately 20-25 hours per week Monday - Sunday.

Must be able to work through August 11th with the possibility of working weekends through September 2nd.
Education and Experience
•Applicants must be a minimum of sixteen (16) years old at the time of hire.
•Previous experience in public customer service and cash handling is highly desirable.
•Preferred candidates will have knowledge and experience working with computers.

Supplemental Information
•The role involves tasks conducted in an outdoor swimming pool environment.
•Work requires a considerable amount of physical activity, including walking, standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping, lifting, and carrying supplies and equipment.
•The incumbent is expected to engage in extended periods of talking, listening, sitting, and standing. Furthermore, the role necessitates the ability to work outdoors for prolonged durations, enduring extreme sunny, hot, and humid conditions, as well as other fluctuations in the weather.

DESCRIPTION & BENEFITS

Regular Full-Time

Employee works in a position that is classified as 40 hours per week. Eligible for full benefit package including medical, dental, life and LTD insurance; pension and general leave and optional benefits.

Regular Part-Time 30+

Employee works in a position that is classified as 30+ hours per week. City pays contribution toward employee only medical and dental insurance. Employee can pay the difference to cover spouse and/or children. Life & LTD insurance coverage is provided. Employee participates in the City's pension plan and the City contributes to the plan. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and optional benefits.

Regular Part-Time 20+

Employee works in a position that is classified as 20+ hours per week but less than 30 hours. City pays contribution toward employee only medical insurance. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation and optional benefits.

Regular Part-Time

(less than 20 hours/wk)

Employee works is a position that is classified as less than 20 hours per week. Employee accrues general leave on a pro-rated basis and the City pays 3.75% toward deferred compensation.

Part-Time (No Benefits)

Employee works in a position that is classified as a "no benefit" position (i.e., Fitness Instructor, Scorekeeper, Substitute Lifeguard). Employee is not eligible for benefits and pays 7.5% toward deferred compensation.

Seasonal/Temporary

Employee works in a position that is classified as a short-term position, is not eligible for benefits and pays 7.5% toward deferred compensation.
