Are you a certified surgical tech seeking a new opportunity? The Outpatient Orthopaedic Surgery Center is seeking a certified surgical tech to join the team. You will be assisting physicians and nurses in orthopaedic cases. This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday in West Des Moines. No nights, no weekends and no call requirements. You will be eligible for a $5,000 hiring bonus

Do I want the job?

As a certified surgical tech you will be responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in outpatient orthopaedic surgery procedures. You are able to maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room. You will prepare the OR for the arrival of surgical patients, assembling equipment, supplies and instruments for surgical procedures. Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and assist with the preparation and maintenance of the operating room. You will work in a place that expects outstanding experiences; we do this by working hard to assume the best and being curious with all around us. You will be naturally curious, friendly and helpful.

Can I do the job?

You will be on your feet for extended periods of time that may seem unnatural. You are able to communicative effectively and efficiently with team members, supervisors and physicians. You can think on your feet and are an excellent multi-tasker. You are able to use your indoor voice and use confidential information for patient care only. Be respectful of patient rights. You are able to work the hours of the position (Monday thru Friday).

What does an outstanding certified surgical tech look like?

Current certification to practice in the state of Iowa. Prior experience working in orthopaedics or an ASC is preferred, but not required. Must be able to prioritize and work with minimal supervision. Flexibility of hours based on scheduled cases. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to handle high stress environments and be adaptable to change.

OOSC is a privately held joint venture with Unity Point and DMOS medical facility.
