Responsible for the provision of high-quality of patient care by promoting, donning, doffing handwashing and implementing infection prevention and control practices and compliance with regulatory agecncy requirements.
Evaluates health exposures/ issues and assists with determination of proper care and planning related to infection prevention and control
Ensure isolation rooms have all required equipment
Serves as a liaison with Department of Health and reports
Conducts research on infection control issues to ensure current policies, procedures and protocols
Assists client departments in preparation for accreditation and licensure surveys as well as other regulatory standard reveiws
Provides orientation and on-going training to staff on topics including but not limited to Infection Prevention & Control, Point of Care testing, Nursing Policies & Procedures, BLS certification, Safety, and compliance
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, fingers, handle objects, controla, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance , stoop, kneel, talk or hear, taste or smell
Covid Testing of Stakk, Residents and ensure ongoing education
The employee must occasionally lift 15-20 pounds
.Any other duties assigned by DON / Administrator as needed

Qualifications/Requirements:
Currently licensed in the State of New York as a RN – MUST be in good standing
College degree (2 or 4-year degree required for RNs)
Demonstrable customer service skills and desire to be a part of a skilled nursing/rehab senior care community
Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to skill nursing/rehabilitation
Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work as a team player with professional and non-professional personnel
Must be willing to “roll up their sleeves” and provide clinical care as needed including assisting on the units with medication administration as needed
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures, etc. that are necessary for providing quality care.
Desire to serve as a visible and productive member of the Crest Manor “family” including providing excellent customer service and care to the Crest Manor residents, their families, guests & visitors
Ability to work well with other staff and provide supervision and direction to other RNs, LPNs, CNAs as well as interdisciplinary teams to achieve the best possible quality of care for residents
Must be punctual and dependable
