* Position Summary * The Apprentice Certified Psychiatric Technician develops skills through education and mentoring to prepare for a certification to contribute to the achievement of quality care and patient outcomes by maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu. To accomplish this goal, the Apprentice Certified Psychiatric Technician will be precepted and mentored to provide care and emotional support as assigned. The Certified Apprentice Psychiatric Technician will be taught how to implement individualized treatment plans, assist with the collection and documentation in cooperation with the treatment team members. This position starts in Spring 2024.

* Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) * Education: High School/GED diploma required

* License/Certifications: N/A

* Experience: N/A

* Demonstrates a proficiency in all aspects at the entry level position.

* Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

* Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

* Reasoning Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

* Demonstrates a proficiency in all aspects at the entry level position.

* Must be able to annually demonstrate competency in seclusion and restraint training.
