DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Registered Dietitians work as part of the interdisciplinary health care team to develop an individualized nutrition care plan for each patient in this six-bed residential treatment facility for adults with eating disorders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Assess client needs for those arriving from higher and lower levels of care.

2. Contribute as an educator to clients and parents on nutrition recovery and food normalization.

3. Facilitate a weekly group for clients on nutrition education.

5. Participate in the weekly Treatment Team meeting.

6. Work with culinary staff to design and implement meal plans for the cycle menu.

7. Educate clients/parents upon discharge, to include meal plan and meal monitoring.

8. Organize weekly challenge snacks and/or meal outings for clients.

9. Coordinate with families on snack and/or meal passes.

10. Attend all required training, events, and complete required on-line or other training by dates due.

11. Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

12. Develop feeding plans for NG tube clients

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of a bachelor's degree from a college or university that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE). Degree in Dietetics, Food and Nutrition.

Completion of Masters level program from an accredited university in Nutrition and/or related field.

Completion of 6-12 months in a CADE accredited practice program (internship).

Successfully pass the exam provided by the Commission on Dietetic registration (CDR)

Maintain continuing education requirement of the CDR.

RD, RDN Registered Dietitian with CDR of the Academy of Food and Nutrition (AFN).

procedures. Must be able to work overtime as dictated by the needs of the program.

Communication: Must be able to speak, read, and write in English at the level

necessary to perform all job duties safely and competently. Must be able to

communicate verbally by phone in a concise and clear manner.

Good Judgement: Must be able to consistently apply good judgement, using available

resources, company policies in the context of each individual situation.

Teamwork: Must be supportive and helpful with team members; must assist co-workers

by upholding and reinforcing company policies and requirements conveyed to clients.

Mental Abilities: Must be able to think clearly. Must remain pleasant and positive while

interacting with clients. Must be able to think critically and manage a difficult population.

Physical Environment and Tools: This role is performed in a 24-hour

rehabilitation/clinical environment. It requires the use of standard office equipment, such

as phones, fax machines, computers and filing cabinets.

License Required: Must have a valid California Driver's License and provide proof of

auto insurance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $41.00 per hour DOE
