Participates in patient and family teaching. Provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other members of the healthcare team in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse (RN). Guidelines include physician's orders, standards of care, nursing policies and procedures, manuals, hospital/long-term care policies, and supervising RN judgment.Is legally responsible for individual practice and may incur liability for deviation from safe practice. Maintains responsibility for all actions taken. Consults with appropriate manager/supervisor in difficult situations requiring additional input. Makes informed decisions based on factual and objective data that has been analyzed for all pertinent information.
