Emergency/Trauma Care Team

New Emergency Department with 28 treatment rooms including three trauma bay.

Surgical team, including neurosurgery, standing by 24/7 to treat patients requiring care for injuries

Easy access by vehicle and a helicopter pad on the roof

Waiting areas designed for privacy and comfort

Under the general direction and guidelines of Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) standing orders, standards established through the Nurse Practice Act of Pennsylvania, the Registered Nurse, RN in the Emergency Room is accountable for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Essential Functions of the Registered Nurse, RN, Emergency Room:

Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status

Determining the priority of the patient’s problems and needs

Implementing clinical nursing interventions

Having a highly diverse skill-set

Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes

Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team

Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment

Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes

Provides care to a broad spectrum of patients ranging from short-stay to trauma

Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice

Grand View Health currently has 21 beds in the ER plus 2 Trauma bays.

We see patient ranging in age from newborn to geriatric. All medical concerns including STEMIs, acute stroke and trauma patients, as well as patients experiencing mental health emergencies.

Schedule:

Three shifts/week, 7:00 am - 7:30 pm, every 3rd weekend and every other holiday rotation.

Qualifications Education and Experience: Vocational diploma Nursing Diploma minimum requirement required Associate's Degree Over 6 months to 1 year as an acute care Registered Nurse preferred License and Certifications: Registered Nurse in PA – Licensed, Upon hire, requiredBasic Life Support (BLS), Upon hire, requiredAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Within 1 year of hire, requiredPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Upon hire, preferred
