Surgical Technologist for Plastic Surgery Practice in Fairfax, VA

(Part Time)

The Bitar Cosmetic Surgery Institute, one of the busiest cosmetic surgery practices in the DC area is looking for a surgical technologist for its new surgery center. The practice is open to a part time or full-time position. 

The ideal candidate must have:

  • High School degree or equivalent (GED).
  • Surgical Tech Certification
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technology program (certification preferred)
  • 2 years (or more) of experience working as a surgical technologist
  • Plastic surgery experience preferred
  •  Knowledge of surgical instruments, instruments, techniques, procedures, and sterilization techniques.
  • Must be a great team player and have good oral and written communication skills

Job Description:

  • Prepare the Operating Room for surgical procedures
  • Set up a sterile field.
  • Open supplies and equipment on the sterile field
  • Sterilize instruments
  • Prepare basic sterile packs and trays
  • Scrub for surgical procedures
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during the procedure
  • Demonstrates competency in identifying and handling specimens appropriately
  • Order and take inventory of supplies
  • Maintain proper files and records of procedures
  • Clean the operating room in between surgeries
  • Assist with moving, positioning, and transporting patients.
  • Assist the surgeon during clinic hours as needed
