Our Exercise Physiologist reports to the Director of Pharmacy, Rehab, and Therapy Services and supports Edgerton Hospital by:
  • Providing direct patient care to cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation patients including various types of therapeutic exercise programs.
  • Providing total patient care including evaluation, treatment plan, establishing treatment goals with an estimate of time to complete goals, education, documentation of all relevant information, and communication with patient, other personnel and physicians.
  • Providing direct patient care to patients having stress tests, EKG, holter or event monitor.
Equipment To Be Used:
  • Medical equipment: telemetry, infusion pumps, suction machines, oxygen delivery systems, glucometer, ECG machines, stress testing equipment; use of exercise equipment, such as treadmill, upper body cycle, recumbent bike, elliptical for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation;
  • Office equipment: telephone, copy machine, fax, paging system, computer and printer.
Requirements

Training & Experience
  • Advanced knowledge of exercise, physiology, nutrition, risk factor modification strategies, counseling techniques and use of educational programs as applied to cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation services.
  • CPR Certification
  • ACLS certification within one year of start date
  • Minimum of one year as a staff exercise physiologist or equivalent is desired.
  • Will fulfill all hospital required education/competencies.
  • Highly encouraged to be member of the state and national rehabilitation associations
