Title: I&E Technician

Location: S/E Virginia (Norton/Grundy)

Converge Resources is actively seeking to fill a Field I&E Technician position (full-time) with an oil & gas end-user client in the Southeast VA area (Norton/Grundy). A company truck will be provided and they pay 1.5 for overtime (averaging 10 hours a week in overtime).

The ideal candidate will have strong PLC (different types) and logic/control narrative design and build out experience.

Qualification Requirements of the I&E Technician:

  • Strong PLC (different types) and logic/control narrative design and build out (does not need to be a programmer, but does need to have familiarity and skillset to work on PLC's)
  • Turbine process control knowledge (would be a huge plus)
  • Plant style control/networking understanding may be more valuable than a distributed well I&E model
  • Knowledge of ASIC miners (would be a huge plus)
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and insurer
  • Basic understanding of different instruments, communication protocols (Hart, Modbus), configuration software packages, and test devices
  • Basic understanding of wireless networks including radios, cellular modems, switches, routers, and other network gear (ex. Sierra Wireless, Freewave, MDS, Fortinet, etc.).
  • Ability to connect to and troubleshoot RTU and/or PLC programs. (ex. Fisher ROC / Floboss, ABB, Bristol Control Wave, Modicon, Allen Bradley etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work on electrical equipment from 12 VDC - 600 VAC

Responsibilities of the I&E Technician:
  • The qualified individual will provide field level technical support in the design, installation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all oil and gas facility process equipment.
  • Available for emergency and on-call support.
  • Ability to work safely in challenging environments, including, and not limited to high temperature, noise, dust, and other industrial / oilfield locations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
