We have a current career opportunity as a: Assembly Production Coordinator -- 2nd Shift Location: Tarboro, NC, USA Job Summary: This role will be responsible for the day to day management and supervision of the Engine Control Unit Assembly production area. This incumbent will be responsible for ensuring top quality units are produced, implementing continuous process improvement and cost savings, and performing the everyday schedule/team management duties. This incumbent will have the opportunity to work alongside engineering/maintenance, quality and production colleagues to improve existing processes and define new processes where needed. You will be able to provide process expertise regarding process improvement techniques to achieve corporate objectives within the costs allowable. * Supervise and Develop ECU Production Personnel * Inspect Materials, Products, or Equipment to Detect Defects or Malfunctions * Maintain Operations Data * Organize Workflow * Read and Analyze Charts, Work Orders, and Production Schedules to Determine Production Requirements * Plan and Establish Work Schedules, Assignments, and Production Sequences to Meet Production Goals * Requisition Materials, Supplies, Equipment Parts, or Repair Service * Confer with Management or Subordinates to Resolve Associate Problems, Complaints, or Grievances * Monitor or Patrol work Area and Enforce Safety and Sanitation Regulations * Daily Activities, as well as other duties as assigned: o Floor Control o Production Reporting (Inventories, Production Achievement, Rejects) o Quality Improvement o Associate Communications o Attendance Tracking (Line-up, Overtime) o 5S and Safety Control (6S) o Continuous Improvement (Efficiency, Quality, Budget, w/PDCA cycle) o Initiate Training and Assessment o Total Preventative Maintenance Tracking (TPM) o Associate Coaching and Counseling o Understand and Achieve Customer Requirements (Quality, Cost, Delivery) Requirements Minimum Qualifications: * Associates Degree Business Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or Related Field * 3 year's experience as a direct supervisor * Bilingual English and Spanish * Self-directed and task-oriented * Willing to work overtime as required and all shifts * Proven ability to lead teams * Experience in coaching, and counselling direct reports. * Experience with Microsoft Office Applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership or Related Field from a AACSB, ACBSP, or IACBE accredited University or college. * 3 years of work experience in a high speed, Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment * Project Management * 5+ years Supervisory experience with proven upward growth Skills and Abilities : * Practice and promote Hitachi Astemo fundamental beliefs, corporate principles and guiding policies * Proven ability to make sound business decisions and exercise good judgment * Highly motivated * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy * Maintain clean and orderly work environment * Provide strong leadership to subordinates * Ability to interact with all levels of organization, as required * Analyze technology, resource needs, market demand, and confers with all departments to assess feasibility of projects * Improves manufacturing proficiency levels to meet site goals and objectives * Understanding of all processes, procedures, and equipment * Coordinates and recommends cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility * Strong verbal and written communication skills Supervisory Responsibilities: * Will supervise associates, lead teams, enforce company policies and procedures
