Remedy Surgery Center is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our dynamic surgical team. The CST will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures, ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the operating room. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient care.Responsibilities:Preoperative Preparation:Prepare and organize the operating room before surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available.Collaborate with the surgical team to verify patient information, surgical site, and relevant documentation.Assistance During Surgery:Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures, anticipating their needs.Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery, adhering to aseptic techniques.Assist in controlling bleeding by applying hemostatic agents and other techniques.Postoperative Duties:Assist in the postoperative care of patients, including transferring them to the recovery area.Ensure proper disposal of surgical instruments and waste according to established protocols.Communication and Collaboration:Effectively communicate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare team members to facilitate a collaborative and efficient work environment.Participate in preoperative briefings and debriefings to enhance communication and teamwork.Equipment Maintenance:Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring compliance with infection control standards.Report any malfunctioning equipment or issues to the appropriate personnel.Professional Development:Stay informed about advancements in surgical technology and techniques through continuous education and training.Maintain certification and licensure, fulfilling any required continuing education requirements.RequirementsSuccessful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program; National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA), Certified Operating Room Technician (CORT), or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST).1-3 years of experience in a surgical settingStrong understanding of surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology.Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to adapt to changing situations and prioritize tasks accordingly.Physical Requirements:The position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move heavy equipment, and perform repetitive tasks.
