DescriptionIndependently provide professional orthodontic and general dentistry services consistent with the highest recognized standards of clinical dentistry and the dental profession. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Support the organization's mission and goals, quality standards, and patient-centered medical home philosophy. Incorporate KANA's core values of Courtesy, Caring, Respect, Sharing, and Pride in all activities and decisions.Uphold KANA's Code of Ethics by conducting professional activities with honesty, integrity, respect, fairness, and good faith in a manner that reflects positively upon the organization.Provide Orthodontic consultations and develop treatment plans meeting accepted standard of care. Document all services in each patient's electronic health record using KANA's electronic health records system within policy defined timeframes. Provide TMJ consultations as well as Oral Pathology and Soft Tissue Exams in accordance with current standard of care practices. Conduct Orthodontic Mentorship with KANA dentists allowing completion of orthodontic patient care from developed treatment plans. Provide clinical and didactic in-service to KANA staff as time allows.Maintain Dental staff clinical privileges as granted by the Dental Director and KANA Board of Directors.Work with federal, state, and local agencies as necessary to provide quality health care.Secondary to Orthodontic services, independently provide general dentistry services and oral health care consistent with the highest recognized standards of clinical dentistry and the dental profession, and in line with approved dental privileges at KANA.Provide services to the satisfaction of KANA's Dental Director and in accordance with generally accepted standards. All services to be performed at or through KANA's P.L. 93-638 health care facilities. Continually strive to improve patient experience and quality of care by focusing on optimal patient access, continuity, team based care, clinical information systems, patient self-management, and community engagement.Participate as an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of Medical and other Health Care by collaborating with those professionals to provide complete and comprehensive care.Coordinate with Case Manager and Revenue Cycle for patients receiving treatments that require financial arrangements.Participate in KANA's quality improvement activities and quality assurance review process. This includes but is not limited to peer review, chart audit, treatment plan evaluation, and adherence to defined and accepted treatment modality and procedural protocol.Promote the importance of preventive Oral Health Care through the provision of patient education to all ages of the KANAS' service population.Attend all OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory compliance training formations provided by KANA administrative staff.Represent KANA in a positive and respectful manner assisting in the promotion and maintenance of good public relations among community groups and professional organizations.Ensure that explanation of the Dental Treatment Plan and Treatment Plan Alternatives be discussed with an empathetic and concerned demeanor and provide appropriate referral services when the treatment plan is outside the scope or ability to provide the service.Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other KANA staff. Practice meaningful customer service skills addressing patient and staff needs courteously and promptly.Pursue professional growth and development through continuing education and other avenues to remain current in the improvements in the field of dentistry and strive to incorporate those improvements into the group practice when appropriate, maintaining licensure and other credentials as required.Other duties as assigned by Dental Director. Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.RequirementsDDS/DMD. Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience. DDS/DMD with a valid State of Alaska license.
