Overview:

Plans and provides clinical support to patients and staff; as well as provides clinical leadership, financial and personnel management within the department. Participates in quality improvement processes for the department. Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to organize and provide care that is appropriate to the condition of all patients. Coordinates, and manages day-to-day operations of the Radiation Oncology Department, as well as work with supervisors and physicians in establishing, and supporting clinical standards of care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the effectiveness of services provided, and in collaboration with staff, devises improved techniques and methods of implementation consistent with national trends in the delivery of patient care
  • Plans, directs and/or participates in the development of new treatment services
  • Meets regularly with upper management of strategic initiatives, medical and clinical services to develop goals, objectives and plans for treatment and healthcare services
  • Consults with and advises upper management regarding needs, goals, future plans and problems pertinent to clinical programs
  • Assures staff complies with safety, health policies and procedures of the clinic and ensures patient care is delivered in a safe manner consistent with health promotion
  • Markets programs to target audiences and assists in contractual agreements for health care services
  • Maintains staff productivity to budgeted standards and assures that budgetary parameters are maintained
  • Supervises employees, and participates in selection, orientation, counseling and evaluation of staff
  • Coordinates, develops and maintains quality assurance and program evaluation systems
  • Monitors, analyzes, assesses and communicates the growth of services within the department.
  • Manage projects self-initiated or requested by Upper Management, physicians or facilities.
  • Stay current on all department guidelines, processes, procedures, laws and compliance issues
  • Support and assist staff with identifying and solving departmental problems and maintain interpersonal/professional relationships to prevent job related issues and low moral.
  • Orient and train staff to perform assigned job duties according to department standards.
  • Ensures strong communication verbally and in writing with other staff members and departments/teams.
  • Responsible for daily productivity counts and reports
  • Maintains working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to the departments assigned responsibilities.
  • Maintains confidentially of all information related to physicians, patients, medical staff, finances and cost effective health care delivery issues.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with peers while ensuring a strong cohesive team.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree; One year experience as a Clinical Manager
  • Must have fulfilled all requirements of the NATA Board of Certification Inc. exam and state licensure or

    regulation as determined by the specified state. Three years supervisory experience of clinical staff and have

    the ability to implement team concepts of care delivery. Current knowledge of appropriate clinical practice,

    radiation protection and quality assurance, patient management and care, charges, dosimetry and equipment


Posted Salary Range:
USD $56,745.00 - USD $115,500.09 /Yr.
