Position Summary:

Responsible for performing mammography and general radiologic imaging for the detection of diseases, injury and foreign bodies.

Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Performs radiological examination, minimum of 17 patients in 8-hour period.

  2. Transfers and positions patients utilizing accepted standards of safety and proper lifting techniques. Applies immobilization devices as necessary.

  3. Provides required patient and image identification on all examinations performed, as required for medical records and medical/legal documentation.

  4. Completes required documentation of all radiologic examinations performed. Image quality meets standards set by Radiologist.

  5. Selects and operates different radiological equipment as required for individual procedures. Selects proper automatic and/or manual technical factors on individual patient basis, to assure compliance with accepted department standards.


Qualifications:

Required:

  • Possess two (2) years of formal education/training beyond high school or Associates Degree

  • Certified in Mammography by American Registry of Radiologic Technologist or within 12 months of accepting the position.

  • Possess 1 month of job-related experience.

  • Eligible for Registration/certification as Radiologic Technologist. (Must pass certification within 6 months of completion of schooling).

  • Certified in CPR.
