Terms and Conditions apply The Ophthalmic Technician works up patients for physicians that includes taking medical history, performing initial examination and completing diagnostic testing. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO) preferred Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: N/A Experience REQUIRED: Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in an ophthalmology/optometry office Experience PREFERRED: Two (2) years of previous experience in an ophthalmology office performing initial examinations and diagnostic testing Education/training REQUIRED: High School Diploma or equivalent Education/training PREFERRED: Successful completion of an Ophthalmic Assistant Program Independent action(s) required: Takes medical history and performs initial examination and diagnostic testing independently. Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable): N/A Additional position requirements: Must be willing to work at all office locations.
