Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry has an opening for a full-time

Faculty (unclassified)position.

This position includes direct clinical care, teaching, supervision, and program development duties, with a focus on providing integrated behavioral health services to individuals with medical complexity and their families who are seen in an academic medical center complex care primary care clinic. Patients range in age from infancy to adulthood and a large proportion have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in addition to their medical complexity. This is a faculty position with rank commensurate with the applicant's experience. Integrated services are provided within the Special Care Clinic at Children's Hospital Colorado.

The Special Care Clinic (SCC) is a complex care clinic that provides primary care and co-managed care for over 4,500 individuals with medical complexity and their siblings from a seven-state catchment area. SCC is the largest and one of the oldest complex care primary care clinics in the United States and serves individuals with a wide range of medical, genetic, and/or developmental diagnoses. The integrated behavioral health team within SCC is looking for a behavioral health clinician and a clinical psychologist who are motivated to provide equitable, patient- and family-centered care for individuals with medical complexity and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide integrated behavioral health services in a complex care primary care clinic for youth and young adults with medical complexity

Deliver individual, family, and group-based services including prevention/health promotion interventions

Consult with a multi-disciplinary pediatric primary care team around addressing behavioral health and environmental factors that impact youth and family well-being, and collaborate closely with resource partners including social work, family navigators, nurse care coordinators, and community health liaisons to deliver comprehensive, team-based care

Use evidence-based assessment and treatment approaches for young children, children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with a wide range of behavioral, developmental, and mental health concerns

Supervise trainees, other mental health providers, and pediatric health professionals

Engage in teaching and scholarship, including collaboration on quality improvement projects and grants and contracts with hospital and community partners

Engage in activities of learning, reflecting, and professional development related to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Instructor, Sr. Instructor, Assistant Professor:

1-3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

Minimum degree qualifications: Select the credentials that apply LCSW, LPC, LMFC, PhD, and/or PsyD from an APA-accredited program,

Must have significant prior experience working with pediatric patient populations.

Associate Professor:

4-7 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

Minimum degree qualifications: Select the credentials that apply LCSW, LPC, LMFC, PhD, and/or PsyD from an APA-accredited program,

Must have significant prior experience working with pediatric patient populations.

Professor:

7+ years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.

Minimum degree qualifications: Select the credentials that apply LCSW, LPC, LMFC, PhD, and/or PsyD from an APA-accredited program,

Must have significant prior experience working with pediatric patient populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with pediatric populations with medical complexity, particularly adolescents and young adults

Demonstrated skills in the use of developmentally and diagnostically appropriate screening and assessment tools

Demonstrated skills using evidence-based treatment models including but not limited motivational strategies, consultation models, and flexible application of behavioral and developmental therapies

Experience and skill in consulting with professional colleagues and staff

Ability to deliver services in Spanish is strongly preferred
