What You'll Do

The Tent Permitting Specialist's primary duties include supporting the tent department by coordinating the planning and organization of tent permitting prior to event production. A key component for the position will be to work with tent Project Managers by ensuring work is done completely, thoroughly and on-time. In order to successfully operate, the position requires that a full workweek is maintained inside the office with occasional weekend work as needed. This position reports directly to the Compliance Supervisor and will work very closely with both project managers and operations.

The Day-to-Day

• Works closely with the tent project management team and designer to ensure that files are accurate and sketches are complete for permitting submittal.

• Work with state and local Building Inspectors to ensure compliance to Building Code

• Compile document files as required by Building /Fire Officials.

• Maintain awareness of code and municipal updates and notify key stakeholders accordingly.

• Maintain the "Permit By Town" files with all relevant information.

• Maintain all online systems for permit application.

• Maintain all compliance documentation required for permit submission such as flame certificates.

• Give continual feedback to the Project Managers and Operations teams relating to project installations as they relate to code requirements.

• Meet with officials as needed for inspections and walk throughs.

• Complete appropriate permit applications as required by municipalities.

• Provide feedback and solutions for continuous improvement.

• Provide support to all other company team members, as needed.

• Ensures that all dig Safe tickets are entered in alignment with state guidelines

• Recommends and arranges for private utility marking when needed

• Performs other duties such as site inspections & Dig Safe pre-marking as needed.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• 1-2 years' experience in event planning, construction, permitting or related industry

• Strong organizational skills

• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills

• Project management skills including communication and superior documentation coordination.

• Ability to multi-task and manage workload imbalance

• Ability to work independently as well as with others
