Position Objective

The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Optimizer will be responsible for EMR projects, including managing and directing EMR go-live implementations; establishing and delivering successful mythologies and expertise at the program level to ensure they are defined, tracked, and communicated in a consistent and effective manner throughout the organization. The EMR Optimizer will work with the Director of Information Systems routinely to identify project and task priorities.

Essential Responsibilities

EMR Optimizer Service Delivery
  • Liaison between EMR vendor and EMR users for issue resolution, updates, enhancements, and optimization of the EMR
  • Define the resources needed for program implementation and creation of project schedules and work plans
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of EMR workflows
  • Communicate and champion project requirements necessary to execute the EMR program
  • Work with the leaders, stakeholders, and Physician Champions to continually ensure expectations regarding scope, schedule and budget are met and lessons learned are applied moving forward
  • Assist the Director of Information Systems to plan current and future projects and tasks
Trainer/Educator of EMR functionality
  • Coach and mentor staff members in regard to the EMR
  • As directed, train new users, providers and others in EMR workflows
  • Assist with privacy and security education that coincide with EMR training
  • Promote change and train team members for improvement
Report Analysis
  • Analyze and contrast EMR data with regulatory requirements and performance
  • Analyze report data based on user needs and management requests
  • Lead report development conversations and make suggestions to leaders.
Other Responsibilities
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned in a professional and responsive manner
  • Demonstrate the ability to use relevant equipment
  • Support, understand, and promote Alomere Healths mission, vision, values, policies and procedures
  • Ability to meet the work schedule requirements with flexibility dependent upon the needs of the department

  • Will be relied on to promote and uphold the values of the organization while leading initiatives
  • Participate in meetings and assist with project management
  • Identify improvements for the organization and work with the Director of Information Services to promote
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • RN, LPN, CMA, or related field

  • Strong skill in leadership and conflict resolution
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with staff members and leadership team
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and time management skills
  • Skill in developing and managing EMR projects or programs
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with individuals and teams at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to develop project status reports to assess success issues and/or risks associated with project/program requests
