Job Title: Ultrasound Technician

Overview: We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technician to join our healthcare team. As an Ultrasound Technician, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations for patients under the guidance of physicians. Your primary focus will be to operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images of various organs and tissues within the human body, aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform ultrasound examinations to produce high-quality images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow.
  2. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
  3. Position patients correctly and operate ultrasound equipment to obtain accurate images.
  4. Analyze ultrasound images for clarity and diagnostic quality, ensuring all necessary views are captured.
  5. Consult with physicians to review images, discuss findings, and assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
  6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures performed.
  7. Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations governing the use of ultrasound equipment.
  8. Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
  9. Assist in the training and supervision of students and new staff members as needed.
  10. Stay current with advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices through continuing education and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

  1. Associate degree or certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field from an accredited program.
  2. Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Sonography.
  3. State licensure or certification as required by regulations.
  4. Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  5. Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and imaging software.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  8. Attention to detail and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  9. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and move equipment as needed.
  10. Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and maintaining professional ethics.

Working Schedule: The Ultrasound Technician will work according to the following schedule:

  • Monday: 4:00 PM to midnight
  • Tuesday: 12:30 PM to midnight
  • Wednesday: 1:30 PM to midnight
  • Thursday: Off
  • Friday: 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM

This schedule includes a mix of afternoon, evening, and extended shifts, providing coverage throughout the week. It allows for a long weekend, with Thursday off, to ensure adequate rest and work-life balance for the technician. Additionally, the varied shifts accommodate patient needs and optimize staffing during peak hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  2. Prior experience working as an Ultrasound Technician in a clinical setting.
  3. Specialized training or certification in a specific area of ultrasound imaging (e.g., obstetrics/gynecology, cardiovascular).
  4. Experience with advanced imaging techniques, such as 3D and Doppler ultrasound.
