We are seeking a talented and experienced Dynamometer and NVH Lab Supervisor to join our growing team. This Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing employees and testing procedures in a multi-site and multi-shift work environment. Candidate should have experience organizing shift work, mentoring employees, monitoring progress, enforcing rules, providing daily feedback to the Management team, and ensuring quality standards are being met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage dynamometer and NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) lab testing programs for automotive engines, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets for lab testing programs; tracking progress and milestones to ensure timely and successful completion.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Management, Engineering, Quality to operate a successful lab environment.
  • Manage day-to-day workflows, employee schedules, assignments, and balanced workloads.
  • Collaborate with customers to ensure testing is going according to plan.
  • Manage, mentor, and coach employees across multiple sites and shifts, fostering a positive work culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in lab testing operations, maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Prepare and deliver program reports to Management and Corporate stakeholders, hosting meetings to share progress and updates on laboratory staff and testing progress.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory developments in automotive engine testing to improve testing strategies and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field. Relevant work experience in lieu of a degree is acceptable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in engine dynamometer testing, NVH testing, or related areas within the automotive industry.
  • Excellent track record of managing employees, being a strong leader, and the ability to resolve workplace issues effectively and timely.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and interface with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Candidate must have reliable transportation to work at multiple sites in Metro Detroit.
Job Requirements:
  • Travel: local travel between locations in Metro Detroit.
  • Work environment: Office/computer work and lab testing environments.
