This learning agreement states the terms of Insert intern's name's internship with the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities, under the support of Dr. Ray Himmelman Le Blanc, Licensed Acupuncturist.

This internship is a temporary position that is unpaid starting on May 6, 2024 and will end on or about August 17, 2024.

The learning objectives for this internship are:
  1. Provide necessary and appropriate consultations, examinations, treatment and other professional services as required by clients seen at Blaisdell YMCA Community Acupuncture site.
  1. Demonstrates behaviors and actions consistent with YMCA values, code of conduct and other policies and procedures.
  2. Participates in training and application of skills necessary to perform assigned duties and responsibilities.
  3. Communicates with identified internship supervisor reporting on progress, making recommendations, preparing reports, etc.
  4. Obtains feedback from internship supervisor to enhance skill development.
The tasks and responsibilities of this internship are outlined and attached to this agreement. Furthermore, the internship offer described in this agreement is contingent upon passing a criminal background check.
  1. Job Summary:
The Internship position provides educational opportunities for students to work at the YMCA to gain business and operational experiences which transfer to work skills for their future employment. Duties and responsibilities vary based on assignment and needs of the YMCA department or project.
  1. Essential Functions:
  • Demonstrates behaviors and actions consistent with YMCA values, code of conduct and other policies and procedures.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities as outlined for the task or projects assigned (see the Learning Agreement).
  • Participates in training and application of skills necessary to perform assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Communicates with identified internship supervisor reporting on progress, making recommendations, preparing reports, etc.
  • Obtains feedback from internship supervisor to enhance skill development.
  1. Relationships:
This position reports to the internship supervisor who reports to the next level manager for the assigned branch or department. The incumbent interacts regularly with staff and may participate in meetings to complete assignment or project.
  1. Qualifications:

Required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School graduate or equivalency.
  • Course work related to the assignment or project.
  • Basic computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to fulfill scheduled hours to accomplish assigned duties and tasks.
  • Willingness to learn and ask questions to enhance the development process.
Preferred
  • Pursuit of degree program directly related to the assignment or project.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  1. Work Conditions:
  • General office work demands and ability to work at a computer for extended period of time.
