Key Responsibilities in a Correctional Setting:

Patient-Centered Care: Conduct thorough assessments, monitor inmates' health progress, and implement appropriate nursing interventions. Regularly evaluate outcomes and adjust care plans.

Clinical Excellence: Deliver essential nursing procedures tailored to the specific needs of the inmate population. Display proficiency in fundamental intravenous and phlebotomy skills.

Documentation Mastery: Ensure all documentation, from inmate health plans to discharge planning, is completed comprehensively, objectively, and legibly.

Educative Approach: Provide health-related education to inmates, customizing content to address individual needs and promote overall well-being.

Medication Management: Administer medications as per protocol, cater to pharmacological needs, and act decisively to address any concerns.

Teamwork and Training: Play a pivotal role in the orientation and training of new hires, contract staff, and students, ensuring they're well-equipped to function effectively in a correctional environment.

Requirements
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
