Position: Master Planner

Reports to: Materials Manager

We are seeking a Master Planner to join our manufacturing plant team Your meticulous attention to detail and exceptional skills will be instrumental in orchestrating production schedules and coordinating activities for peak efficiency and productivity. Working closely with various departments, you'll craft comprehensive production plans, manage inventory, and optimize resource allocation to meet customer demands and production targets. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain the master production schedule based on sales forecasts, production capacity, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with production, procurement, quality and the logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials, components, and resources.
  • Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce lead times, and minimize costs.
  • Coordinate with engineering and quality assurance teams to ensure product quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and disruptions to production schedules, such as supplier delays or equipment breakdowns.
  • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and other planning tools to facilitate production planning and scheduling activities.
Minimum Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, industrial engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in ERP and MRP systems for scheduling and component planning.
  • 3+ years of master scheduling experience
  • 5+ years of MRP experience
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills (V look ups, pivot tables and formulas)
  • Proven experience in production planning, scheduling, and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and planning software, such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics, Plex highly preferred.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is desirable.
