When joining the Crestwood family, you join our mission to improve our patients' quality of life and enhance the well-being of our community.Responsibilities:Responsible for the coding of Clinic records that encompasses general ancillary department visits, RCR (recurring outpatient records) and Sleep Study records and Pain procedure records that are received in the Health Information Management department.The coding and abstracting is performed using 3M coding software.Monitors the unbilled report for problem accounts and works closely with the Business Office and other ancillary departments as needed. Stays abreast of coding regulatory guidelines and changes to ensure coding compliance.All work is carried out in accordance with the Health Information Management department and CHS approved policies and procedures. Serves as back-up for the coding of other outpatient records.Requirements:High school diploma or GED requiredMust possess in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, reimbursement principles, health record content, sequencing of diagnoses, and the use of coding software.A trainee is not acceptable for this job due to the complex nature and specialty knowledge-base associated with coding requirements/guidelines.A CHS pre-employment coding test must be taken with preferred pass rate of 80%.At least one of the following is preferred:RHIT, RHIA, CCS or equivalent experience in coding nomenclatures
