Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Description Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) facilitates quality development and rehabilitation of residents with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning, evaluating, and administering medical referrals. The qualified candidate is also responsible for the following occupational therapy duties:- Develop and document treatment plans and goals.- Provides appropriate therapy treatments as indicated. - Re-assesses resident status and adjusts treatment plans according to their abilities and appropriate level of independence.- Educates and makes recommendations to residents and family members.- Completes all daily documentation and paperwork.- Coordinates with other care providers to promote a healing environment for residents.- Utilizes therapeutic knowledge, interventions, equipment, and expertise to assist residents in reaching their maximum performance and level of functioning.- Performs other duties as directed, prescribed, and required.Minimum Requirements Occupational Therapy Assistant degree and state of Utah licensure. Current BCLS and CPR certifications. Experience in resident rehabilitation and long-term care preferred. Must be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills. Basic computer skills required. In addition, the qualified candidate must be able to work well as a team and have the ability to transfer and/or position residents independently in a safe manner.
