As directed, performs patient care activities consistent with the established standards of clinical practice. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and Mercy Service Standards.Qualifications:Minimum Required QualificationsEducation: High School diploma or GED.Experience:Must have 2 years work experience as a Medical Assistant. Experience credit may be given for relevant healthcare experience with approved exception. Certification/Registration:Medical Assistant certification from one of the Mercy approved certifying bodies. Obtain CPR certification within 90 days of employment.Other Skills and Knowledge:Successful completion of Clinic Academy or completed within 30 days if they are new to the Medical Assistant role. Successful completion of the Clinic Competency Checklist annually. Exhibit critical thinking skills, initiative and have knowledge of chronic diseases. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public.
