This position is responsible for providing quality care to patients undergoing ambulatory surgical intervention in the area of preadmission, admitting, recovery, and discharge. The Peri-Anesthesia Nurse provides direct patient care and other nursing services to the patient; this RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of the patient. Performs perioperative assessment of the patient, nursing care plan formulation, operative care plan implementation and post-operative evaluation of the patient's response/outcome and of effectiveness and appropriateness of nursing care provided. The Peri-Anesthesia RN also ensures that the patient is prepared for discharge home by providing the necessary education to the patient and responsible caregiver. part-time and full-time opportunities available Qualifications Graduate from an accredited school of nursing Current registered nurse licensure in the State of New York Minimum of 3 years of PACU, ICU, or ER experience required Ambulatory surgery experience with pre-op phase I and II preferred
