Job Summary:
Performs histology procedures and collaborates with supervisor to assist with supervisory duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs histology procedures and processes including immunohistochemistry according to established protocols.
  • Maintains a good working knowledge of the technical and instrumental aspects of the department.
  • Collaborates with Supervisor to organize workflow and staffing assignments in the department to ensure work is completed in a reasonable timeframe.
  • Ensures staff is adequately trained.
  • Maximizes productivity by cross training personnel when needed and provides input to the supervisor.
  • Performs quality control, equipment maintenance and instrument calibration as defined.
  • Recognizes problems, implements and documents corrective actions and informs supervisor when appropriate.
  • Writes, reviews, and updates procedure manuals; maintains the department in conformance with regulatory demands.
  • Assumes responsibility for workflow processes and ensuring the continuance of smooth operations of the section in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :
  • Baccalaureate Degree in biological/chemical science from an accredited college of university.
  • Must have ASCP Certificatiion (HT or HTL)
  • Must have 1+ years experience
