Requirements of the Spine Surgeon:
MD/DO license
BC/BE
Looking for an ortho trained spine surgeon
Responsibilities of the Spine Surgeon:
Review patient’s medical history
Order diagnostic tests
Perform surgery
Prescribe medication
Post-operative care and treatment plan
Fully explaining treatment plan to patient
Possibility to educate students or participate in research
Recognize and diagnose conditions involving the spine
