Job Title: Nuclear Med/ PET Technologist Aide
Location: Athol, MA
Hours: Saturday 7:00am - 1:00pm

Purpose and Scope:

The PET Technologist Aide will provide support to the PET technologists, Front Office, Courier and SRS team, while providing a professional, caring atmosphere to all groups and maintain a fast-paced, multi-tasking clinical environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Support PET technologists when needed.
2. Retrieve CDs and reports on PET patients.
3. Deliver reports, CDs to referring MDs.
4. Retrieve and Correlate outside CDs and reports for reading radiologist.
5. Deliver CDs to reading radiologist at serviced facility.
6. Communicate with and support SRS team.
7. Monitor all outside CDs and be sure the CDs are either returned to correct address or set aside for patient pick-up.
8. Communicate referring physician experiences to marketing.
9. Provide liaison and public relations service between the Shields network, radiologists and referring community.
10. Provide a positive atmosphere to co-workers, radiologists, hospital staff and referring community.
11. Clean and re-supply equipment rooms as needed.
12. Once, oriented be familiar with Regulatory Compliance Regulations i.e. DPH, Radiation Control (state or federal).

Educational Requirements;
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience Requirements:
2 + years of experience in a Medical Imaging/ Clinical setting.
Excellent customer service skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, walk and utilize a computer for long periods of time.
Must be able to assist patients with mobility difficulties.
Must be able to push, pull and lift a minimum of twenty-five pounds.
Must own car and possess drivers license in good standing.
Must have flexibility to travel to Central and Eastern Mass if needed.

Internal / External Interactions:

Extensive interactions with all customer groups to include but not limited to: patients, patients families, radiologists, referring physicians, referring office staff, marketing staff, hospital administrators/staff and all Shields departments and employees.
