Job Title: Oncology Pharmacy Technician

Location: Waltham, MA

Hours: Monday-Friday with flexible start time between 5a-8a, No weekends and no On-Call

Requirements: Either MA state license or PTCB.

Must have IV and Oncology experience (clean room)

Pay: Varies based on years of experience and certification. Typically ranges $25-33/h. Please contact for more information

Position Overview: As an Oncology Pharmacy Technician with Medix, you will play a vital role in supporting the oncology pharmacy team in providing exceptional pharmaceutical care to patients undergoing cancer treatment. You will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in preparing chemotherapy medications, ensuring accurate compounding, and maintaining a safe and efficient workflow within the pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare chemotherapy medications according to established protocols and guidelines.
• Accurately compound and label medications, ensuring proper dosage and administration.
• Assist pharmacists in inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and organizing medication supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program preferred.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) license or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in an oncology setting.
• Strong understanding of chemotherapy drugs, compounding techniques, and safety protocols.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards.
