Auto Assembly Operator

Responsible for operating, troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance of automated equipment to maximize assembly efficiency and yields.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
This is an entry level position; however, testing will be conducted to determine conformance to required aptitude level. Prior manufacturing experience and a high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required combined with a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Associate must be experienced and trained with Hilite’s environmental aspects and impacts for the jobs they perform.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Operate, troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance to automated production equipment.
- Insure proper material inventory levels and flow through assembly area.
- Communicate with team members on all shifts regarding equipment up-time, yield, etc.
- Maintain quality and maintenance documentation as required.
- Count and move all scrap parts.
- Perform assembly system startups and shutdowns per written procedures on a daily basis.
- Perform minor repair and maintenance to assembly equipment per maintenance and operating manuals, or as necessary.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and make adjustments to assembly equipment as the need arise.
- Maintain proper inventory levels at the assembly stations.
- Maintain control charts per written instructions on a daily basis.
- Perform test stand calibrations per operating procedures; perform and record adjustments on control charts.
- Perform necessary inspection using basic gaging equipment according to quality control instructions.
- Monitor performance of the assembly line operations using statistical process control methods, identifying and eliminating factors causing non-conformance in the operation.
- Perform final inspection and package product for shipment per written procedures.
- Perform secondary machining operations according to written procedures.
- Maintain clean work area and perform general plant cleanup as required.
- Perform other related responsibilities as may be assigned or required.
