We are currently looking for a Fulltime Licensed Paramedic to join our team as a EMS Supervisor. This position is located in South Ozone Park, NY at the NY race track.About the role: The schedule for this role is Wednesday - Sunday, 40 hours per week. This is a fulltime position and you will be eligible for Health Benefits, PTO and Retirement.This is not your typical EMS space, the job involves Supervisory duties as well as hand on Paramedic duties. The EMS Supervisor manages, supervises and coordinates staff and health center operations. Administers life support care to sick and/or injured persons in pre-hospital setting as authorized and directed by physician. There is an ambulance on-site available for emergency situations.Must have NYC REMAC and Nassau County REMSCO certifications upon hire.Essential Functions: Typically oversees the supervision of a team of EMTs within a health centerDual role combines clinical, professional expertise (i.e., EMT) and supervisory responsibilitiesFulfills the job expectations of an EMT dedicating an agreed upon percentage of time to clinical dutiesManages a limited number of employees - responsible for following appropriate processes for talent acquisition, staff development and performance management and provides input to the Director of Site Operations for the final staffing decisions. Responsible for interviewing, training and onboarding new colleaguesManages daily operations, workflow, work schedules, timecard monitoring etc. to ensure efficient and effective health center performanceIdentifies process improvement opportunities and presents resolutions and recommendations to the Director of Site OperationsMakes recommendations regarding staffing model based on objective scheduling & volume analysis - presents to Director of Site Operations for approvalUnderstands and complies with all regulatory, procedural, policy and licensing requirementsCompletes incident reports as needed and provides assistance to Medical Care and outcomes dept regarding investigations and the resolution of complaintsCommunicates and coordinates corporate messages and ensures implementation of policies or procedures is followedCoaches and provides feedback to staff on a regular basisManages internal budget, reviews expenses, purchases supplies, inventories equipment, medication etc.Assists in the identification and use of local per diems to ensure appropriate staffing levels are metCommunicates regularly with staff, conducts meetings and shares information regularlyWorks collaboratively with the Medical Leader at the site to manage internal site issuesMay require other duties as assignedJob Requirements: Completion (with passing grades) from an accredited Emergency Medical Technician program, EMT Certification as defined within the state in which contract existsCurrent hands on certification in health care provider ARC or AHA Basic Life Support requiredACLS preferredNY Paramedics - based on city and county: Regional Emergency Medical Service Council (REMSCO), Regional Emergency Medical Advisory Committee (REMAC), Regional Emergency Medical Organization (REMO) CertificationsPreferred Experience: At least three years experience as an EMT in an emergency room, with an ambulance/EMS service, occupational health clinic or other ambulatory care clinic.Prior management experience preferred.Work-life balance is at the foundation of how decisions are made and where Premise is headed. While a number of factors influence salary, our estimated New York City compensation is $33-$36.00 per hour.
