Come be our next Transporter at Main Line Health This seasonal position will extend from May through September.

Available Hospital Locations: Lankenau (Wynnewood), Bryn Mawr, Paoli, Riddle (Media), Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation (Malvern)

  • Be an Integral Member of our Organization As a Transporter, you have the unique ability to work with patients one-on-one. With a friendly, spirit-of-service attitude, you will transport patients to and from various areas in the hospital. In this fast-paced role, you will also have many opportunities to work closely with other staff.

* Transport inpatients and same-day surgery patients to and from any area in the hospital, using the Inter Serve System, and meet the department's goals.
* Transport newly admitted patients. Transporting efficiently by using the Inter Serv System and meeting the goals set by the department.
* Provide transportation and assistance during disaster situations.
* Provide transportation of equipment and/or lab specimens as needed. (Lankenau Specific)
* Assist nursing staff with transferring patients, stretchers, wheelchairs, etc.
* Maintains O tanks for transportation. Remove and re-apply regulators to O2 transport tanks.
* Redistribute wheelchairs, stretchers, etc., to appropriate units an average of four times for each eight-hour shift.
* Attend all department/hospital in-service orientation and other meetings as required.
* Display a polite, spirit-of-service attitude toward patients and co-workers. Maintain a friendly, efficient, and responsive attitude toward patients while performing job duties.
* Perform work in accordance with MLH and regulatory safety procedures and requirements, including NFPA, EPA, OSHA, JCAHO, and Federal, State, County, and Local agencies.
* Maintain confidentiality of records and other information, performing all tasks and communications confidentially and respectfully.
* Follow established department guidelines for cleaning and sanitizing of patient transport equipment.
* Ensure special care is taken when transporting patients with drainages, IVs, & oxygen.
* Respond to all pages within the established time frame.
* Perform other related duties as required.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Experience

  • Ability to read, follow instructions, and use basic math skills.
  • Must be flexible and available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
