Scope of Position
The Nuclear Medicine/ PET Division encompasses imaging rooms located in University Hospital, East Hospital, and The James Cancer Hospital. The imaging rooms consist of state of the art PET/CTs, and SPECT/CT cameras. The Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging technologist works closely with radiologists, referring physicians, and clinical scientists to provide high quality imaging for the care and treatment of our patients.
Position Summary
The Lead Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist position performs all duties of the Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist in addition to coordinating daily workflow, daily assignments, patient flow, and provides support to the operations of the department. The lead provides all quality assessment activities for the imaging site in addition to the maintenance of accreditation preparedness for the site. The lead will provide assistance in assessing technologists performance for annual merit increases as well as orient new staff to the department. The lead may cover additional Imaging Supervisor/Manager responsibilities as necessary in the Supervisor/Managers absence or should a vacancy occur. The Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging Technologist performs nuclear medicine

In vivo

and

In

vitro

procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation (including SPECT and PET), accomplishes computer processing and image enhancement, and provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic and therapeutic interpretation, under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging Supervisor, and Imaging Services Leadership.
Minimum Qualifications
Certification and active registration in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) required. Licensure in Radiologic Technology (Nuclear Medicine) by the State of Ohio Department of Health required. Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine program required. Minimum Associates Degree in relevant field of study required. Minimum 2 years experience as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
