ResponsibilitiesPrimarily responsible for providing emergency care and transportation of the sick and injured in accordance with established BSA Health System Policies, Department Guidelines and Patient Care Protocols. Safely operates emergency vehicles in compliance with all laws, BSA Policies and Department Guidelines. Accepts other tasks assigned by the Shift Commander, EMS Division Supervisor or Paramedicine Services Director. QualificationsJob RequirementsA high school diploma or equivalentCertification or licensure as an EMT-Paramedic by the Texas Department of State Health ServicesAmerican Heart Association Healthcare Provider completionValid minimum Class C Texas Driver License with restriction "A" permissibleAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) completion within 80 days of employmentPre Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) completion within 80 days of employmentPediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Education for Prehospital Professionals (PEPP) completion within 80 days of employmentCompletion of the following Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses: IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800.A is required within 80 days of employmentPreferred Job RequirementsField experienceNational RegistryAdvanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) completionNeonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) completionCritical Care Emergency Medical Transport Program (CCEMTP) completion
