Job DetailsJob LocationGreenway Ford - Orlando, FLGreenway Ford is hiring an Experienced Transmission Technician The Trans Tech services and repairs vehicles as assigned by management following all established standards and procedures. He or she must have knowledge of the diagnosis, repair, and replacement of vehicle transmissions. We deliver the highest quality service while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, some post-secondary automotive training, at least one year of dealer-level or large facility experience, and certification by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). An unrestricted driver's license and a clean driving record, a strong technical performance record, and strong physical dexterity and stamina to get the job done are required. Candidates must be able to work productively in a fast-paced team environment and must have a positive attitude, professional appearance, great communication skills, and the ability to deliver world class customer serviceResponsibilitiesDiagnoses, maintains, and repairs automotive transmissions and related systemsPerforms work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standardsRepairs automobiles and light trucks as assignedTest-drives vehicles and tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipmentEnsures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standardsFollows all shop policy, procedure, safety, and environmental rulesCommunicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed, providing an estimate of time needed for additional repairsExecutes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specificationsHelps maintain shop appearance and safety standards and ensures the shop runs in an efficient manner by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functionsAttends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as requiredPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsASE Certification or Graduated from an associate degree program in auto maintenance and repairPost-secondary automotive training or equivalent work experienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredExperience/training in the diagnosis, repair, and replacement of transmissions requiredOne year of dealer-level or large facility experience preferredStrong knowledge of all aspects of automotive repair and maintenanceHave working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment and lift operationAble to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehiclesMust be able to read, interpret, and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate recordsAbility to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer serviceExcellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stressHighly professional and dependableSafety and customer service orientedAble to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as neededUnrestricted driver's license and clean driving recordBenefitsCompetitive PayPaid VacationEmployee Purchase and Service DiscountsFull benefits options including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, and Accident Insurance401(k) Retirement Savings PlanState of the Art Facility with a Professional Working EnvironmentGreenway Automotive Group is one of the world's most progressive, privately held automotive companies proudly serving Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and China.
