JOB TITLE: Data & Systems Administrator

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Information Technology Director

FLSA Status: Exempt

FTE: 1.0 (8 hours per day)

START DATE: July 1, 2024

GENERAL DUTIES SUMMARY:

Provide support and develop solutions to integrate various data systems within the district. Provide maintenance and support for district online services and related hardware.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Employees in this classification must possess the requisite skill, experience, education, and ability to perform the essential functions of the job required with or without reasonable accommodations:
  • Maintain the various data exchanges between systems
  • Manage TTSD staff and student identity/account automation
  • Maintain customizations and the implementation of various online resources for students and staff
  • Maintain district email system and associated client interfaces
  • Maintain district SPAM filter, mailing lists, proxy server
  • Build and maintain data integration systems
  • Integrate District systems to use single authentication system (currently Active Directory)
  • Build and maintain the automated system for user account creation and modifications
  • Provide telephone and remote desktop support to District staff for district systems
  • Maintain server OS (Linux, Windows) and hardware as part of the IT Department
  • Evaluate new technologies as they develop for their appropriateness in meeting instructional and administrative goals for the District.
  • Plan and direct the work of outside contracts and consultants, as required
  • Provide guidance and implementation for adopted instructional technology projects
  • Collaborate with other IT staff on projects requiring online access for end users
  • Meet regularly with Information Technology (IT) staff, technology specialists and other district staff to provide a logical and cohesive progression towards District technology goal, as it relates to position and district goals.
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, FUNCTIONS, AND CAPABILITIES
  • Bachelor's degree and/or two years of experience in a related field supporting the use of web-based applications and a deep understanding of data integration.
  • Adapt readily, use independent judgment, initiate appropriate action and demonstrate integrity in decision making
  • Working knowledge of content management systems.
  • Knowledge of the techniques for using web technology for distance learning.
  • Knowledge of the techniques for the creation and delivery of streaming video.
  • Knowledge of District supported client software for troubleshooting and optimization
  • Proficient in at least one programming language (i.e. Python, PHP, Java)
  • Effective use of databases for web publication of information, forms and gathering of information
  • Share knowledge and maintain flexibility and creativity in an educational environment
  • Provide phone help desk support
  • Respond quickly to service/training requests
  • Learn and expand personal knowledge base related to Web-based technology
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical staff; Work with a diverse staff
  • Adapt readily, use independent judgment, initiate appropriate action, and demonstrate integrity in decision making
  • Be able to multitask
  • Be able to manage multiple disruptions in a day
  • Exercise good judgment, courtesy, tact in public settings and in making proper disposition of problems
  • Maintain confidentiality when dealing with information accessible within this department
  • Manage use of time independently
  • Work collaboratively
  • Possess reliable transportation available for daily use and a valid drivers license

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

This is a 12-month assignment with initial placement in the AA Range of the Exempt Classified Job Schedule.

Progression to the AB Range of the Exempt Classified Job Schedule can be reached by attaining each of the following: 2 years of service with the District, letter of recommendation from the employee's direct supervisor and have proven to possess the skills necessary to perform this job (as indicated on the employee's annual review). The assignment of step will be in compliance with the current Collective Bargaining Agreement and range of pay is located in the current Classified Salary Schedule.
