Bilingual Aide

This position will provide assistance to an ESL/bilingual classroom teacher performing related duties as required or assigned.
This position is in the Pay Grade 2 category.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Minimum of 48 college hours preferred
A Texas educational aide certificate will be applied for, through the District, upon hire.
Bilingual paraprofessionals must also be able to demonstrate a high level of language proficiency in both languages.
Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to perform several tasks concurrently under varying deadlines.
Ability to exercise tact, good judgement, and initiative in dealing with students, faculty, and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents and children to convey education and school-related information to ensure full comprehension.
Ability to provide bilingual communication support through interpreting and translating data and information that reinforces skills introduced by the teacher.
Knowledge of general office equipment.
