We show compassion, celebrate differences and treat one another with respect. Responsibilities The Wound Care RN will assess and determine a plan of treatment within 24-72 hours of physician consult. Assesses patient's condition by reviewing all systems, the patient's health records and/or history. Develop a treatment plan according to current evidence-based practice and explain rationale in the electronic charting Institute preventive measures and monitor results of care delivered. Consult with other members of the health care team in the management of acute and chronic wounds. Provide demonstrations/education on dressing techniques, principals of aseptic technique and pressure injury prevention to patient and/or nursing staff. Monitor nutritional deficiencies that will affect or impede wound healing. All levels of ostomy care, planning, and teaching Application of drainage collection devices and pouches Any other wound related tasks/procedures deemed necessary by medical staff that fall within the scope of Wound Care RN QualificationsJob Requirements: Graduate of accredited School of Nursing Current License as RN in the State of Texas CPR and ACLS (recommended) certified by American Heart Association or American Red Cross Position requires fluency in English language to function in job environment appropriately Preferred Job Requirements: Previous experience working as a wound care nurse is preferred Wound Care Certification preferred: Wound Ostomy Certified Nurse (WOCN), Wound Care Certified Nurse (WCC) Skin Wound Ostomy Certified Nurse (SWOC)
