ED Paramedic

Department/Unit: Emergency Medicine General Work Shift: Per Diem (United States of America) Albany Med is looking for temporary per diem Paramedic Assistants due to the executive order. The Emergency Medicine Paramedic Assistant acts as personal assistant to providers in the Emergency Department. This includes assigned tasks of direct and indirect care in the Emergency Room to meet the care needs of patients under the direct supervision of a licensed independent practitioner. The Emergency Medicine Paramedic Assistant carries out designated activities that are within those functions limited by NYS law or Executive Order to unlicensed health care personnel. Minimum Qualifications: + Required: High School Graduate/GED and New York State Paramedic Certificate; must furnish upon hire to HR + Must obtain and maintain certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS/PEPP). + Must be currently working as a paramedic credentialed by a Regional EMS Council for a minimum of 2 years.
