Job Summary:

The Athletic Trainer is the first responder for acute injuries that occur during practices and games as well as assist coaching staff and students in preventative measures to minimize injuries. This position will provide training to high school students who are interested in assisting student-athletes and will work towards workforce experience offering for Intro to Sports Medicine.

This position requires the trainer to be in person and or available via telephone at all times during sporting events and practices including all home league games and district, regional, and state playoff games. This position also requires that the trainer be available in person within 30 minutes of an emergency during these events. This position will coordinate annual required physicals and provide concussion testing. The ATC will monitor and record lighting, Heat Index and Air Quality per WIAA regulations.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with colleagues and customers
  • Competent in computer skills including Microsoft Office products
  • Comfort in answering phones and speaking with customers on the phone
  • Ability to manage time, tasks, and resources appropriately
Education and Training:
  • Bachelors' or Master's degree in related field
  • Current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) for Athletic Trainers
Licensures/ Certifications:
  • Current BLS and State of Washington Athletic Training License
