We are a 120-bed not-for-profit nursing facility offering advanced healthcare while providing skilled nursing and rehabilitative services for both long and short term residents. Located on eight beautiful landscaped acres, we also provide sub-acute services, wound care and respite services.The Mission of Island Nursing and Rehab Center is to provide the highest quality of care to all residents/patients in a manner that ensures respect, dignity, compassion, sensitivity and concern.The Vision of Island Nursing and Rehab Center is to achieve the highest level of resident/patient care services by focusing on resident/patient satisfaction and to serve as a center of excellence for our specialty programs, as well as a high-quality provider of care to the elderly and physically frail population in our community.We are currently seeking a Recreation Therapist, CTRSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMust have successfully completed, C.T.R.S. certification, MT-BC Music Therapist certification, ART-BC Art Therapist or other certification. Have thorough knowledge of various resident activities, and have a familiarity with resident limitations and needs; be able to work in close cooperation with the Director of Therapeutic Recreation, as well as display initiative to complete activities, related tasks and programs. Must have appropriate experience in a long-term care setting.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Will be required to complete initial assessments, as well as maintain care plans, progress notes on a quarterly basis and, upon a significant change, complete the Recreation section of the MDS, or assigned by the Director of Therapeutic Recreation; will complete documentation in a timely, accurate manner per facility policy if given such.May be required to drive facility van for facility related needs including escorting residents on community outings and picking up facility supplies. Will be required to report any moving traffic violations to the Director of Therapeutic Recreation for the purpose of review for eligibility to drive facility van.Maintain knowledge of governmental, accreditation, professional and facility standards, regulations and practices. Maintain knowledge of current TR trends, techniques, methods, issues and professional legal standards through attending professional conferences and participating in opportunities for continuing education. Demonstrate commitment to advancing the use of TR Services in order to ensure quality and protection and to promote the rights of persons receiving services.EOE M/F/D/V
