Technical Business Analyst

This position reports to the Manager of Technical Analytics and will be responsible for a full range of activities related to the planning, design, testing, and deployment of software development, analytic, and BI projects that support Customer Retention. To be successful, this position will require a diverse skill set including leadership, data analysis and modeling, valuation, presentation skills and strategic thinking.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

· Find technological solutions to business requirements.

· Understand and perform logical queries to facilitate calculations, reporting, and complex formulas, applying the appropriate level of analysis for the task.

· Use numerical data and computer systems to identify trends, develop business insights, and optimize processes.

· Collaborate with data analyst teams and other subject matter experts to analyze business needs to create or improve processes and functionality.

· Develop and monitor QA/UAT testing to validate that the delivered solution meets the business needs specified within the requirements.

· Analyze, troubleshoot, and assist to resolve issues during testing and implementation.

Required Skills

· Skilled in analytic techniques, database queries, and query design.

· Strong (Advanced) Excel proficiency is required.

· Advanced SQL database experience including table builds, complex queries, procedures, and views.

· Experience with SSIS and other ETL tools.

· Familiarity with AWS Redshift

· Design, develop, and deploy data visualizations in Tableau (preferred)

· Experience writing process flows and requirements documents.

· Experience with JavaScript and HTML development.

· Experience with the creation of data warehouse/data cubes.

· Strong knowledge and experience with data mining tools and techniques.

· Working knowledge of various SDLC process and methodologies.

· Ability to effectively organize, assess, summarize large data sets to provide meaningful insights.

· Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.

· Utilize “big picture” thinking and understanding to business processes, systems, and designs.

· Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.

· Remarkable interpersonal and presentation abilities

· Ability to learn and support new systems or applications.

· Able to overcome project obstacles and escalate when appropriate

Required Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Analytics, Business, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field

· required.

· 2+ years of experience performing technical business analysis.

· Life insurance or financial industry experience preferred.

Qualifications:
· Skilled in analytic techniques, database queries, and query design.
